For the past four years, I have been privileged to be a part of the medical team at Camp Simcha Special.
Every year, I am blown away by the amazing campers and staff at Camp Simcha. It is truly a place of extraordinary simcha.
As a Respiratory Therapist in camp, I see firsthand how many of our campers struggle from day-to-day. Some of the most simple things to us are enormous challenges for many of our campers. Some require ventilators to help them breathe, and feeding tubes to provide them with food and nutrition. Some require prosthetics to walk, and others require wheelchairs to get around. Seeing, talking, using the bathroom, etc. These are only a few of the struggles our campers encounter. Many of our campers require multiple daily medications, injections, therapies, and treatments to keep them healthy and stable. And after all that, they are constantly in the hospital for treatments, surgeries, infections, etc. These children miss out on so much due to their medical conditions.
Therefore, we, at Camp Simcha, have taken the responsibility to give these children and adolescents the summer of their dreams. Every day is action-packed. Crazy costumes, crazy themes, and all-accessible fun. Helicopter rides, shows, ziplining, rock climbing, recording studio, bonfires, concerts, motorcycle rides, shooting range, woodburning, candlemaking, etc etc. At Simcha, we have no limits. Every child deserves to be a child. That is our greatest belief.
I’m taking on this challenge to run the Miami marathon for my 2nd year. Although this is a difficult endeavor, it is something I am excited to do in order to support Camp Simcha and the entire organization, Chai Lifeline. Chai Lifeline provides critical support to thousands of seriously ill children and their families all-year-round.
These kids are heroes, and they inspire us all with their immense courage and resilience. I've set a goal to raise $7,500 to help continue the vital services Chai Lifeline offers, including but not limited to, case management, counseling, meal deliveries, financial aid, Camp Simcha, Camp Simcha Special, Simcha Without Borders, and so much more.
I need your help to make this possible.
Please donate to my campaign today. I hope you will give generously in support of these Chai Lifeline warriors.
