Last year I ran the Miami Half-Marathon as part of Team Lifeline to benefit children with cancer, disabilities, and other serious medical conditions. During the weekend with the organization, I met families who have been helped by Chai Lifeline.
I listened to stories from three children: Azi, Sam, and Ziv, who all suffer from different medical conditions. I was touched at how much they enjoyed going to Camp Simcha (Chai Lifelines summer camp). They wait all year round to meet their counselors and friends, and to get a break from their pain and suffering. Aside from that, I was also moved by some of the children crossing the finish line despite their ailment and limitations.
My experience in that race left such a lasting impression on me that I am planning to continue my training and run for this worthy cause in January.
Every dollar I raise and every mile I run will benefit Chai Lifeline, an international children’s health support network that provides critical year-round programs and services to nearly 6,000 families confronting pediatric illness.
While running all those miles will be challenging, I am excited to help raise awareness and funds for such an important and worthy cause.
My goal is to raise $6,000, but I need your help. Every donation is 100% tax deductible. Please join me in supporting this important organization by contributing to my personal runner page.
