This January, Ziv’s bar mitzvah year, our family will be running the Miami Marathon to support Chai Lifeline.
Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha has made a huge impact on Ziv’s life and the life of our family.
Ziv was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes before his second birthday. It changed his life and affects our whole family every day. It’s a 24/7 effort to monitor Ziv and keep him healthy. Ziv always has a positive attitude and we all learn how to overcome challenges by watching him.
Last summer Ziv had the opportunity to go to Camp Simcha Special. He had a life changing experience there. Ziv had 12 days to just be a kid. The medical staff kept him healthy and the counselors made him feel empowered, happy, strong, fearless and supported.
In addition to camp, Chai Lifeline offers support and fun for our family throughout the year. Having a child with medical needs can feel overwhelming and lonely, Chai Lifeline helps our whole family navigate the challenges.
This year is Ziv’s bar mitzvah year! He is excited to run the half marathon and help raise money for Team Ziv for all the amazing kids he has met through Chai Lifeline. It will be an extra challenge running with Type 1 Diabetes but he is determined!
Please help us reach our goal so Chai Lifeline can continue to offer all the support they do for Ziv and thousands of other children.
